The credit card company notified Maria that there were 8 purchases on her card that day, totaling $1,500.00. Maria confirmed that she did not make any of those purchases, but the credit card said they will nonetheless hold her responsible for all charges made on the card. Maria has come to your firm for help in addressing the credit card company's demand for her to pay the charges associated with the unauthorized use, resulting from the theft.

Your supervising attorney has asked you to start researching Maria's liability for the unauthorized use of her credit card as a result of the theft. The attorney has asked that you start your search first with either a legal periodical, a restatement of the law, or uniform laws to get an understanding of the current law and its application.
