Use the below university admission process to answer these questions:

1. List each activity, the wait time of each activity, processing time of each activity, and any rejection/rework possibility of each activity in a table. For example,

4. Calculate the cycle time of the entire process. Show your formula.

5. Provide your recommendations on how to improve the current process.

University Admission Process

1. It takes, on average, 2 weeks for student application documents to arrive the the University Admissions department.

2. The check for completeness of documents takes about 10 minutes. In 20% of cases, some documents are missing and the application is rejected.

3. An Admissions Officer spends about 10 minutes to copy the degrees and transcripts and send them to the Registrar for review. The time it takes to send the documents to the Registrar and receive a response back is 2 weeks. About 10% of applications are rejected after the Registrar review.

4. Checking the English language test results takes 1 day on average but in reality, the check takes only 10 minutes. About 10% of applications are rejected after the English language review.

5. The application is sent to the Decision Committee and it takes 2 weeks for a decision to be returned. In reality, the committee spends 1 hour on each application.

6. After the decision is made, it takes 2 days for data to be entered into the Student Admissions System. In reality, data entry takes 2 minutes.
