Scenario:

Your employment as a graduate quantity surveyor in an international quantity surveying practice has commenced. You need toprepare a report to achieve a successful outcome for your companyin the process of tendering and winning this project.You also need to identify elements of the construction work that can be measured and priced. This is necessary to produce bills of quantities and to complete the design and prepare a specification.

Your report should include the following parts:

• Estimation of the work activity costs in compiling a final price to include:
o labour unit rates for this estimate by compiling and processing rate build-up data.
o All in rates for a range of construction activities
• Comprehensive estimate for this work activity to include:
o Thereasons for the level of variation in estimates received by stakeholders.
o Compare the techniques used for the formulation of budgets with estimating final design costs.
• Evaluation for the estimating techniques used for the different stages of the project's lifestyle.

• Analysis for the factors that have an effect upon the compilation of unit rates for your estimate.
