Imani is 45 years old and wants to make some life changes. She is unhappy with her career and her relationship status as a single female. Lately, she has been thinking there is something wrong with her, since the kind of identity issues she is facing seem more typical of an adolescent, not a middle-aged woman.

Identify at least one theory from this week's course readings or materials that offer a possible explanation for Imani's feelings. Briefly review the theory and discuss how it relates to Imani's perceptions. Also discuss other important variables or factors to consider in interpreting this situation.
