1. What are the two types of competing morality Nietzsche thinks have existed in cultures throughout the world?  In your own words, describe what Nietzsche means when he calls a set of values or virtues ‘Master Morality’?  Use examples from the text if it helps you answer the question.

2. Describe what Nietzsche means by the second type of morality.  Why would Natural Law Morality and other Christian moralities be this kind of morality?  What does Nietzsche find so despicable in these moral values and virtues?

3. Nietzsche is a controversial figure because he takes Relativism to its logical conclusion. If there are no moral rules, then rules are made by whoever is able to make them.  Nietzsche’s thinks power, strength, and will are the most important characteristics of a person.  Though his ideas are often easy to accept, they are reasonable if there are no moral laws. Briefly respond to Nietzsche. What do you think of his ideas? What does he have right?  What does he have wrong (and how do you know he is wrong)?
