This assignment asks you to demonstrate the thesis that we, as humans, are engaged in an on-going conversation about the purpose and the conditions of our existence here on this planet. In order to implement your project, you are asked to use one videos we watched on Youtube, in order to understand, explore, clarify, e tend, of the complicate, or illuminate any part of a text we read in our anthology entitled Best American Essays of 2014 (BAE14) and some aspect of the world that you now occupy.
Consider the following options when deciding how to proceed:
1) select and carefully consider from one of the videos a concept, term, or word (words, people, places, events, and ideas);
2) select from BAE14 and discuss how another essay demonstrates that the author in our anthology uses or responds to the identified concepts in the video text;
3) demonstrate something from your surrounding context for one or both of the authors;
4) organize your essay around one of the six verbs offered in this prompt.
Your goal for this project is to demonstrate that a conversation is occurring in order to help your readers better understand the viability of the work of each author or the basis for accepting or rejecting his or her theories.
