Why do you trade for things rather than produce them yourself? Would Americans in general be better off if they did not buy so many things from others? Why do you feel this way?

If a business is consistently making losses doing something segments of society see as valuable, should the government provide it with subsidies so it will be able to continue operating? (The local symphony might be an example of this condition.) Why or why not?
