The total pressure of air entering a single-stage centrifugal compressor is 1.013 bar, and the total T is 288 K. The rotor tip speed, U2 = 500 m/s, V2'= 456 m/s and Vu2' = 440 m/s. Find the static pressure at the impeller outlet in bars. Assume ηimpeller = 0.9, compressor stage efficiency ηcomp = 0.8, and ηmech = 0.98. Hint: Note that e = Vu2'U, and calculate P02/P01. P2/P02=(T2/T02)>k/k-1.
