The primary objective is to apply the modeling, analysis, and design principles for a permanent magnet (PM) based system for harvesting wave power for a specific communications application

The buoy must be free floating on the ocean surface, with a 3-inch outer diameter. This buoy will Ultimately contain an antenna on the upper portion and electronics for the modem. Therefore the Energy harvesting should occupy no more than 20 inches of buoy length. The harvesting system should produce enough energy so that more than 4 milli-Watts of power are available for use at any given time. Electrical energy should be stored using a rechargeable battery or capacitor, which should have a capacity of at least 60 Joules.
