Water at 10°C is pumped from a lake through a pipe to an elevation of 25 m above the lake surface. The pipe is 650 m long, 0.07 m diameter with a roughness of 0.08 mm. The pipe inlet is 13 m below the lake surface. The maximum flow rate needs to be 0.011 m3/s. Pumps in the U.S. are still sized by horsepower (hp). Determine the pump size needed, if the pump has an efficiency of 68%.
