Consider a real-life system having at least a 3rd order, type-0 and  possibly over damopen-loop response; do the following:

1. Get the mathematical model of the system

2. Check the stability of the system

3. Considering a step input and certain initial conditions for input and output, compute and plot the zero-state, zero-input, natural and forced components, and the total output

4. Compute and plot the closed-loop unit step response (unity feedback) without initial conditions, analyze this closed-loop response by finding out the closed-loop poles (stability) and computing the steady-state error

5. Identify the issues (problems) with the closed-loop performance considering

6. Give the different alternative designs for a PID compensation

7. Design two different PID compensations following the detailed procedures

8. Compare the performance of these both designs with the one found out in (4) above; comment and propose the possible corrections in any one of these designs

9. Produce the MATLAB® codes and plots for steps (3), (4) and (7) above k

10. Conclude your results in a comprehensive report; also mention the reference(s) to any consulted materials.
