DISSERTATION TITLE:Application of Artificial Intelligence in Best Practice Management

For the most part, the dissertation satisfactorily follows an academic process, despite a few shortcomings. The abstract, as well as the introductory and literature review chapters, isreasonably delivered.

Some areas of the research methodology are satisfactorily addressed. However, there are also some areas that are weak; this weakness generates a domino effect on the rest of the research, throwing the findings and conclusions into question.

Abstract, Introduction and Literature Review

Abstract :  The abstract reasonably introduces the research, although more details could have been provided on the research methodology and key findings.

Introduction : The introductory chapter is adequately and clearly discussed. The research rationale is provided. The research questions, aims andobjectivesare straightforward and relevant to the study.  The research methodology is reasonably discussed.  The organization of the study is presented.

Literature Review : The literature reviewcovers topics in relation to Artificial Intelligence (AI), including its various applications. Opportunities and risks associated with AI are briefly discussed. On the whole, the chapter reads like an essay and would have benefited from a more critical and analytical review of the literature.

Also, there is an absence of a theoretical or conceptual framework to underpin the study. A chapter summary of the research gap is provided, but there is a missed opportunity here to pull together the various pieces of literature into a conceptual framework or to briefly discuss a theoretical framework that would guide the study.

Methodology

Methodology : While the methodology chapter provides good justification for a mixed method approach, the overall chapter would have benefited from a more explicit, coherent, step-by-step approach, to ensure that all the core areas of research are covered and that they are adequately discussed. There is a brief discussion of data analysis.  Data validity and reliability are discussed. No discussion onresearch ethicsis provided.

Results, Discussion, Conclusion Recommendations and Presentation

The researchdata is presented mainly in text. As it stands, themes and associated literature that were discussed in Chapter 2 are now being presented again in Chapter 4.

This shows some weakness in the methodologies/data collection and evaluation. This weakness could be traced back further to the absence ofa conceptual or theoretical framework (which should have been derived from the reviewed literature in Chapter 2) to guide the methodology. It is next to impossible for new discoveries/findings to emerge from in this chapter.

Chapter 5 presents the conclusions and discusses the recommendations.  Altogether, the weaknesses of the methodology chapter and the data analysis and presentation chapter generate a domino effect on the rest of the research, throwing the findings and conclusions into question.
