Question: You will be teaching your strategy using a book of your choice from Get Epic, a free service to gain access to digital books for children. Please choose a book for the 2nd -4th grade range and avoid books that are too simplistic, such as The Very Hungry Caterpillar. While these are lovely books, noted for their beautiful illustrations, it is difficult to have the children dig into deep comprehension/content with the text. A good example of a book with rich text would be Before She Was Harriet.

Review all of the possible instructional procedures in Part 4/Compendium of Instructional Procedures, beginning on page 409 in your text. Not all of the activities will lend themselves to a MicroTeaching lesson. For example, Sustained Silent Reading is not something you could use/demonstrate. As you begin to consider your lesson choose 2 activities from these proceduresto implement in your lesson to engage students and effectively teach your strategy. Feel free to use any of the activities included in our text to support your lesson.
