Hannah works in the community and visits people with disabilities in their homes. One of her tasks is to assist with medications. Hannah has an on call supervisor, Leo who is available by phone. According to the policies Hannah is permitted to assist with only medications listed on the medication chart, which are arranged in a dosette box by the district nurse. Olga one of the people Hannah visits daily has come short term memory loss and has been diagnosed with hepatitis c a condition that is contracted only through blood to blood contact or sexual transmission.

The district nurse who works for the Royal District Nursing Service RDNS has just arrived and has left hannah a note asking her to administer some new tablets out of their bottles since she has not had time to add them to the dosette box. Hannah does not work for the RDNS. What should Hannah do? Does the district nurse have more authority to request this task than Hannah's supervisor?
