Discussion: Stevie reached the hospital with a poor health condition as the lung had increased airway resistance. Broad-spectrum antibiotics and ARDS were used for treatment.
The treatment team had a lack of ideas and Dr. House was approached to work on the case. The team was having trouble figuring out which treatment can be suitable for Stevie. Intravenous and antibiotics immunoglobulin was started after a lung cell test but the lungs become discolored after the process (Irawan, 2018).
Dr. House was having no clue regarding the actuarial fact that affected Stevie's lungs. Dr. Park noted that steroids were already used and that is a standard treatment though Dr. House felt they needed a suggested and drastic radiation therapy. Dr. Park claimed more steroids could have been better for the treatment and, Dr. House had a realization that the steroid treatment worked or else transplant recipients could have caused death. The lung was taken by Dr. Park to the radiation lab and its lungs responded quickly to the treatment and claimed it was no major damage and the transplant was a success. Stevie''s father was not agreeing with the experimental procedure.
The available treatment was suggested by Dr. Foreman and reported to Dr. House but it was realized replacing the cyclophosphamide was another treatment that can be done. Though Stevie agreed after mediation he suffered from having more abdominal pain and rushed into surgery (Law, 2018).
Though Mr. Lippa, Stevie''s father, filed a case against the hospital because it is a legal duty of the hospital authority to take an oath that is abided by to get the patients back to health. A significant amount of tests was done with his son and the parent's signature was not asked for an underage patient as Stevie was just 16 years old. Mr. Lippa sues the hospital as he was dissatisfied by the doctor's performance and he is convinced that the hospital did not care for his son Stevie. Negligence and Malpractice were the key components in a claim to the court and also discrimination was another factor. Here the consent form was needed for signing to do any treatment for the patient but these ethics were violated.
