Question: A patient was hospitalized for a surgical procedure requiring general anesthesia. After the surgery, it was noted that there were few to no bowel sounds (GI motility was decreased) and her bladder was not emptying as it should. What autonomic drug do you predict that the physician will prescribe at this point and why would this be a good choice?
