Assignment: Benchmark- Developing Data-Based Reading Instruction
Before an instructional plan can be developed, an educator must gather data on what the students know and what needs to be taught next. Some of the data can be obtained through formal and informal assessments, observations, and discussions with the students, families, and other professionals. Knowing how to use data to guide instruction is a critical skill all educators must establish.
Using the "COE Lesson Plan Template," develop a lesson focusing on the reading goals from the Student Reading Profile you created in Topic. Use the students from your clinical field experience classroom as a basis for differentiation of instructional strategies and materials in your lesson plan. (You may use one of the Class Profiles to determine differentiation if you choose.)
In addition, write a 250 to 500 words reflection including the following:
1. Summarize the critical thinking and problem-solving skills included in the lesson that would enable learners with and without exceptionalities to advance and accelerate their learning and growth in literacy. Get the instant assignment help.
2. Summarize the information from families and other professionals used to inform the creation of developmentally appropriate and evidence-based instruction that is culturally responsive and supports young children's learning across all academic and developmental domains.
3. Reflect on how you used data to evaluate personal practice and modify literacy instruction.
