An safety relief valve is installed on a tank. The lines downstream and upstream of the valve are 8 in schedule 40 steel. The valve is designed to open when the tank has a 1000 psig or greater. The vent exhausts to the atmosphere at a 90 (degree angle). Fluid specific gravity 0.95 and viscosity of 3.5 cP. Sum of losses coefficients (valve and line): 6.5. What force (lbf) is exerted on the valve as a result of the fluid flowing though it?
