There are two connected spur gears attached to a fixed board at points A and B. The assumptions of the system are that the pinion (part 1) is driven at an angular velocity of ω1, and the gear (part 2) is then constrained to rotate at an angular velocity of ω2.

Note that the constraint equation between the two gears in the integrated orientation form is:

Where θ1 and θ2 are the gear orientations for gears 1 and 2, α1 and α2 are the gear radii for gears 1 and 2, and C1 and C2 are constants.
