Standard Company manufactures a product that passes through two processes: assembly and packaging. The information for the Assembly Department for September follows:
Work-in-process, Sept. 1:
Units (40 percent complete) 15,000
Direct materials 4,000
Direct labor 3,000
Overhead 2,376
During Sept., 100,000 units were completed and transferred to Packaging. The following costs were incurred by the Assembly Department during September:
Direct materials 50,000
Direct labor 30,000
Overhead 12,000
There were 8,000 units that were 60 percent complete for both the materials and conversion cost remaining in the Assembly Department at Sept. 30. Use the weighted average method and round unit costs to 4 decimal places.
