Task

This assessment is a simulation of a real-life editing experience. Your teacher will play the part of your client and you will follow their requests and demands.

You should aim to promote the movie in the best way possible.

You will be given 5 movies of different genres (drama. action, comedy, horror, animation). Choose one. You need to identify the key moments in the movie and use these moments to detail your trailer. You also need to understand the elements of the movie trailer and the importance of having them.

The assessment requirements arc:

a) 2.5 minutes maximum. (minimum 2 minutes)

b) You must rebuild the entire soundtrack by recording your own ADR, recording or downloading sound effects and downloading a song of your choice to use. You MUST have all three of them in your final product.

c) You must have a credit page detailing the key positions in the movie. i.e. director, producer and cast. DO NOT credit yourself. You should use IMDB as a reference

d) Your trailer must be in the same aspect ratio and frame rate as the original movie.

e) Final export of the video is limited to 150 MB in size.

You do not have the freedom to use any material that conflicts with the style, genre or storytelling of the original movie.

g) You MUST use dialogue originally from the film.

h) You are allowed to reference IMDB. Google or Wikipedia for the information required to complete this assessment.

i) You may download studio logos from Wikipedia or Google Images or recreate them in the application of your choice.

j) You are allowed to use copyrighted music, however it should stay true to the genre of the original film. You do not need to credit the music source.

k) You are allowed to use royalty free SFX downloaded from the Internet

1) Dialoguc should sit between -20db to -12db and all other sound should be designed around this (if applicable). Peak level is -6db.

You video file will be exported in H264 MP4 format and the file size needs to be under 150 MB.
