Given: A penny moving at speed "v" slides off the horizontal surface of a coffee table a vertical distance "y" from the floor.

Question: Show that the penny lands a distance v√2y/g from the base of the coffee table.

Problems: Need detailed answer of how you move to this final formula, In my physics book there I have Located formulas: d = ½ gt2 and t = √2d/g. I'm just not sure how to get to the final formula.
