Question 1: Tsakiroglou (T) was a peanut supplier in Sudan. Noblee Thorl Gmbh (N). was a major wholesaler of agricultural products located in Hamburg, Germany. In early October 1956, T agreed to supply N with 300 tons of peanuts, at a cost of C$45,000. The goods were to be delivered in November and December 1956. The main shipping route between Sudan and Hamburg was through the Suez Canal, in Egypt. T shipped most of its goods through the canal. On October 29, 1956, the Israelis, British and French invaded Egypt, and as of November 2, 1956 the Suez Canal was closed. It only reopened on April 9, 1957. T did not deliver the peanuts. N sued for expectation damages. Should N's lawsuit succeed?
