Involving lead users in the development process can also be faster and cheaper than involving a random sample of customers in the development process. Many firms use beta testing to get customer feedback, exploit external development of the product, and signal the market about the firm''s upcoming products.

Research the steps of the new product development process and write a short paper addressing the following:

The role of suppliers, customers, employees, and risks in new product development

An overview of the tools for improving the new product development process and measuring new product development performance

Support your position using appropriate sources that are properly cited. The paper should be approximately 2-3 pages in length (not including title and reference page). It must be formatted according to APA (6th ed.) standards including the title and reference page.
