Do individuals of a population of a single species differ between two areas?

The distribution pattern that I am noticing is a random dispersion.

Sample Collecting Method: The sample collection method on which I am using is the plot counting method. This is a method which organisms in a certain proportion of the habitat are counted directly. It is used to estimate population abundance, density, frequency, and distribution.

Target Size: 25

Site 1: Neighborhood Park (1 hr spent collecting samples)

10 black ants
3 Lady Bugs
5 Flies
4 Mosquitoes
4 Cockroaches
2 Centipedes
1 brown spider
3 Water bugs

Site 2: Van Courtlandt Park (1hr spent collecting samples)

20 black ants
4 dragon fly's
1 White butterfly
2 bumblebees
2 flies
1 Yellow lady bug
4 Monarch butterflies
2 Mosquitoes
1 Black butterfly with white spots

Analyze your data. Compute the following for each study plot separately:

  1. Sample size (N)
  2. Sample mean (x¯) - this is a measure of the center of your data values
  3. Sample variance (s2) - this and the rest are measures of the variability of your data values
  4. Standard deviation (s)
  5. Standard error (SE)
  6. 95% confidence interval lower (LCI) and upper (UCI) limits
  7. Make a column graph comparing the means of the two-study plots; include error bars depicting 95% confidence interval around each mean estimate.
