Jennifer Cleland, v. Christian Thiron Facts: Jennifer Cleland and Christian Thiron had a romantic relationship and lived together from mid-1993 to 1997. Throughout their relationship, Cleland helped Thiron in a variety of ways, including with his artisan glassblowing firm, Glassart. In 1994, the two developed a legal agreement describing their financial connection, which included clauses to reduce Cleland's exposure for debts incurred by Thiron's studio. The agreement specified that they would be business partners. In 1997, Cleland filed a lawsuit demanding a declaration that the agreement established a partnership for the ownership and operation of Glassart, as well as claims for breach of contract, accounting, and the installation of a constructive trust.
