Question: Prevention and intervention programs are programs designed to help with issues that have a negative impact on society. Research is developed to experiment with what resolutions work on the problem, how the resolutions works on the problem and the magnitude of impact the resolutions will have on the problem and the individuals impacted. Most research has been by quantitative analyses of survey data and a few qualitative studies. Social and emotional aspects impacted by interventions vary based on the reason for the intervention; for example - bullying - the social aspect could be communication, knowing how to communicate and what is appropriate communication. The emotional aspect could include building self-esteem in the bully and the victim (Guerra, Williams, & Sadek, 2011). Depending the type of intervention program and the age would be part of the determination in what context the program would be implemented. In the context of bullying at least in part the implementation would be through the school as most often when bullying occurs it takes place at school, the other means of bullying is cyberbullying and to address it would be to address the social media site creators and have some type of alert systems put in place. Bullying and cyberbullying are both unwanted aggressive behaviors that occur repeatedly towards an individual where there is a perceived imbalance of power (Waasdorp & Bradshaw, 2014).
