Project title: DC circuit breakers in electric vehicle power systems

The following tasks are required to be performed in parallel with Design 4A reporting / proposal formulation etc. Completion of the following tasks will be evaluated as part of the technical progress of the project and as successful completion of the technical component of the project in addition to the Design 4A reporting activities.

Review on electric vehicle power train topologies. Review on present system voltage / current levels in the electric vehicle power trains (EV power trains)

Review of available DC circuit breaker technology for EV applications. Limitation and their principle of operation

Progress meeting with supervisor

Summarising the available technology options and selection of an appropriate technology for a more detailed study / simulation.

Implementation of a simulation model of the selected DC circuit breaker.

Consideration of experimental implementation of a test setup and selection of components for placement of orders
