Focus on William Still's book The Underground Railroad. It is a valuable primary source containing a lot of data for researchers. After reviewing Still's book do the following set out below. Read these narratives carefully as they can be confusing. For example, West Virginia did not exist in the 1850s.

1. Research the Fugitive Slave Acts of 1793 and 1850. Summarize the key portions of the Acts and explain the Acts relevance to Still and his experiences.

2. After familiarizing yourself with how to navigate Still's book select and read four accounts. Summarize the four Underground Railroad (UGRR) accounts. The first account is "William Box Peel Jones" and begins on page 46.

3. All of the accounts contain information of value to researchers. Pull the following information from your summaries and/or accounts: Date; Name or names of the individuals; gender(s); starting point of the journey; ultimate destination; method of transportation; time in transit; distance traveled; location of UGRR stops during the journey.

4. Provide a summary of the data from each individual account in a spreadsheet. Your spreadsheet should have a header. You should have eight columns capturing the information gathered in three above. You must show your grid lines, and wrap your text.
