Design a community-based project related to a bereavement issue

1. Identify and describe a grief related issue in the community that you will address. Explain why this grief related issue needs to be addressed. Use facts/data/statistics to support the concept that this is a problem and not just your opinion that it is a problem.

2. Create a model program, plan of action, which will address the above stated problem.

a) Include an overview/abstract of your plan (i.e. a summary of your idea).

b) Explain the objectives of the program

c) Describe the various components of the program in detail and how it will be implemented

d) Identify staff/volunteer needs: the number of staff needed, their background and qualifications, their roles within the program, and required training.

3. Provide research/literature that will support your plan.

a) Research programs that exist in the community or elsewhere. Are they similar? Have the programs been successful?

b) Justify the need for this program. How do you know there is a real need for this program vs. your belief that there is a need? Be able to defend your position that this program merits financial support.

4. Include an itemized budget accounting for specific expenses.

a) How much money is needed to create and implement this program?

b) How will the money be allocated?

c) Identify possible funding sources.

5. Develop and include an evaluation tool (an actual evaluation) for the program which supports its usefulness.
