Research a non-therapeutic (not related to the healing of disease) use of DNA technology. This application may be actively in use, or still in development. DNA Technology is defined as genetic engineering; the artificial manipulation, modification, and recombination of DNA or other nucleic acid molecules in order to modify an organism or population of organisms using methods such as PCR, CRISPR, etc.
Addressing the following:
1. Introducing the technique. What is it? How was it developed? (Or how is it being developed?)
2. What is the value of this technique? (What "problems" is it used to solve?)
3. Summarize the protocol for its use.
4. Describe the mechanism behind this application. What is happening on the molecular level?
5. What are the pros and cons of using this technique?
6. Find an example of a scientific journal article, medical journal, forensics article or case study, or agricultural field study where this technique is being implemented or developed. Briefly, explain how it was used in the context of the paper.
