Please answer each question below and support your answers with an explanation or a calculation, whichever is appropriate.

1. When does the statute of limitations expire for William’s 2015 federal individual income tax return?

2. When does the statute of limitations expire on William’s 2015 federal income tax return if William accidently forgot to report salary income of $20,000 because he misplaced his Form W-2 from his employer? Assume that William reported gross income of $75,000 on his 2015 federal income tax return.

3. Assume the same facts as in 2 above except that William fraudulently failed to report a $20,000 cash payment (rather than $20,000 of wages on Form W-2) he received for work he performed because he thought the IRS would not find out about the income.
