Dear Students,
Hello!! Hope you are doing well and enjoying the course so far..., I just want to say thank you for your excellent effort in last week's discussion!
Truly awesome :) And just a reminder: NO AI-generated text, please, and remember to cite your source and give a reference!
The quest for this week's discussion assignment is:
Based on the readings of this unit and your own understanding, answer the following discussion questions:
- What are your own metaethical views on the relation between morality and religion?
- Do the moral convictions of some come into conflict with the religious beliefs of others? Discuss one concrete example of such conflict in your own country. Explain the dynamics of this conflict and how people in your country address it.
- Robert Adams speaks of demoralization without religion (Matthews & Hendricks, 2019). Do you think religion gives morality a context in which it can thrive? If so, why? If not, why not?
Please be respectful of everyone's views and use credible sources to support your arguments.
Your Discussion should be a minimum of 500 words in length and not more than 750 words. You may use the course readings or any relevant source to respond to the questions and your peer replies. Remember to locate, use, cite, and list references in all your discussion posts to validate statements of fact or corroborate personal opinions/points of view.
NOTE: Remember to post as early as possible. The first posting is due on Sunday and the reply is due on Wednesday.
Discussion Responses
Please respond to any two classmates by providing comments or questions about their main post. Feedback should be appropriate, meaningful, and helpful. Overall, your comments should contribute positively to the conversation by broadening or clarifying it. Feedback should be in complete sentences. Read ' Peer feedback for students' to know more about how to give feedback. Look to the learning guide for the link. Have in-text citations, a reference list and the URLs.
