The ePortfolio1 consists of three items:
A. A 600-800 words reflective report on how technology may help the business in the Case Study (see below). This task requires you to critically apply your knowledge and understanding in information systems, particularly on data and knowledge management and business intelligence. This reflective report should demonstrate how you have actively engaged in the unit materials (textbook and Theory Study Guide) and online discussion forums. It should show how you have drawn ideas from these forums and the unit materials to understand the concepts you have learnt.
Your reflection must be YOUR OWN and must NOT repeat the summary notes from your textbook. It may include relevant diagrams, pictures, audios or videos, created by yourself or others with proper acknowledgement.
To demonstrate your engagement with the unit materials, include relevant references to them, for eg., references to pages or chapters in the prescribed textbook, or to other readings or online materials.
To demonstrate your engagement in online Discussion Forums, include references to three (3) of your Discussion Forum (DF) posts.
References to online materials, including DF posts, must include hyperlinks.
B. Screen captures of your DF posts
At the end of your report, include screen captures of three (3) selected DF posts of your own in Discussion Forums weeks 1 to 6. The screen captures must show the whole content of your post including the header that shows the forum title, time, date, and author, and the specific question you are replying. The text in the screen captures must be readable.
C. An Excel spreadsheet that you implement for the business in the Case Study based on a given shell. You should select to include in this spreadsheet example data and functions that are relevant and useful to the business. Further, at least the following must be included in your spreadsheet:
1. Use of SUM or AVERAGE and COUNT
2. Use of IF, SUMIF or COUNTIF
3. Use of VLOOKUP
4. Use of an accumulative total (such as the year-to-date totals demonstrated in Week 3 Practical Study Guide)
5. Use of integers, real numbers, currency, time and date
6. Use of relative, absolute and mixed references
7. Conditional formatting
8. Charts
9. Use of the following Excel facilities: subtotals, filters, data validation
10. The spreadsheet should be appropriately formatted
2. Submission
Your ePortfolio 1 must be kept electronically on Mahara / LEO Portfolio. It must be made accessible to the marker ONLY via a secret link.
Before Assignment 1 due date and time (see the Unit Outline), submit via LEO Turnitin a Word document that contains your reflective report and a secret link to your ePortfolio 1
It is important to note that your primary submission is the ePortfolio, which includes
(i) your reflective report,
(ii) screen captures of your DF posts, and
(iii) your Excel file.
Your Turnitin submission must include only
(i) the text of your reflective report, and
(ii) the secret URL to your ePortfolio.
Do not submit your Excel file to Turnitin.

This ePortfolio 2 consists of three (3) items:
A. A 600-800 words reflective report on how technology may further help the same business you have considered in Assessment Task 1. It is expected to be improved from the report in ePortfolio 1 based on the feedback you receive from Assessment Task 1. This task requires you to critically apply knowledge and understanding of information systems, particularly in telecommunication, networking, social computing, e-commerce and m-commerce. It should demonstrate how you have actively engaged in the unit materials (textbook and Theory Study Guide) and online discussion forums from week 7 onward. It should show how you have drawn ideas from these forums and the unit materials to understand the concepts you have learnt.

C. An Access database that you implement for the business in the Case Study based on a given shell. You should select to include in this database example data and functions that are relevant and useful to the business. Further, at least the following must be included in your database:
a. At least 2 tables linked together with some example fields and data relevant to the business
b. At least one form to enter data into the tables
c. A calculated query
d. A query with criteria to constrain result
e. A query with criteria using wild cards
f. A query with two criteria ANDed or ORed together
