The Call to Christian Formation - Reflections on an Historic Example of Christian Holiness

Please address the following:

The Apostle Paul declared that God's plan for those He has called to Himself is to be conformed into the image of His Son (Romans 8:28-30) - thus to be made holy as He is holy (1 Peter 1: 16). Construct a post of around 200 words in which you identify a historic example of Biblical holiness. As mentioned in Dr. Bekker's presentation, holiness for humans beings are defined by the original creation call to be created in the image of God (Genesis  1:26 - the Imago Dei). The Apostle Paul described this as the call to be conformed to the Image of God's Son (Romans 8:26, 2 Corinthians 3:18). Thus holiness for human beings is defined in the sacred Scriptures as the quest to be like Jesus Christ (Philippians 2:5-11).  This historic example can come from the sacred Scriptures (i.e. Moses, Job, Isaiah, John, Paul, Peter, etc.) or from Christian history (i.e. Ignatius of Antioch, Augustine of Hippo, Francis of Assisi, Martin Luther, Corrie ten Boom, etc.). Explain how this historic person exhibited holiness and how this person made an impact on his/her world. Construct one further response post to another student in which you question, critique, elaborate or confirm their historic example of Biblical holiness. The response post should be of equal length to your original post.
