Objective:
The objective of this post is for you to reflect on your personal experiences with inequalities and to share with the class.
Requirements:
1. You are required to write a 700 to 1500-word blog about an equality that has affectedeither you or someone close to you, such as a family member or friend. Some examples are being raised by a single parent, father didn't get custody rights etc.
2. First you must introduce the inequality, share your story with us.
3. You must then provide some historical background of why this inequality exists.
4. You must then discuss how your proposed inequality manifests today. I would strongly encourage that you show some statistics here to help explain the issues.
5. Finally, you will provide a solution to address the inequality.
6. You must include a minimum of 5 reputable sources. If you are unsure, please contact me or alibrarian.
Examples of reputable sources would be academic journals and books. I willaccept the following news organizations:
New York Times, The Atlantic, The WashingtonPost, LA Times, Seattle Times, The Economist, Ted Talk, NPR, Newsweek and TimeMagazine. If you plan to interview someone, please leave their name from the blog and justprovide a description.
Also, they must sign a form, which I will provide for you during thatweek for them to complete and for you to submit. This absolves you and college of liabilityshould they choose to participate in your assignment.
7. All sources must be cited and/or hyperlinked. You must also include a reference page.
8. Once you post, you must read and reply to at least two peers' blogs. The replies should be aminimum of 200 words each. You are welcome to read more than two.
