Students are required to reflect on the issues of international security and terrorism in the Middle East.

They will be required to select an issue, incident, or organisation to analyse within the context of one Middle Eastern country. (SYRIA)

Purpose: The purpose of this assignment is to get students to think critically about how security and terrorism impacts and shapes Middle Eastern politics.

Assessment criteria: Students will be assessed for their capacity to:

i) demonstrate an understanding of the historical, cultural and economic factors that have shaped the states of the Middle East;
