Question: Assume you have isolated a cell population from bone marrow using as newly discovered CD antigen. You believe that this population has hematopoietic potential. When you grow these cells in culture, they have limited proliferation capacity, which you think qualifies them to be an adult type stem cell. Also, in vitro when differentiated, these cells can give rise to enucleated mature erythrocytes. You know that the ultimate proof to classify them as HSC is to show that they home to the bone marrow in vivo. Which experiment do you perform to show that these cells home?
