The DNA molecule is made up of two strands -- each of which is a sequence of sugar and phosphate molecules linked by covalent bonds. The two chains are held together by much weaker hydrogen bonds between bases on opposite chains. The fact that the two chains are held together by weaker bonds is an important feature that helps the DNA achieve one of its primary functions. What is this function?
Substrate-level phosphorylation occurs within the metabolic pathway where sufficient energy is released by given chemical reaction to drive the synthesis of ATP from ADP and phosphate. In which the metabolic pathways are substrate-level phosphorylati..
Energy is stored in different forms in the body. ATP is very unstable and is put to use very quickly in cells. Other storage molecules last longer.
