Q1. The Hershey-Chase experiment was a sequence of experiments conducted in 1953 by Alfred Hershey and Martha Chase that confirmed DNA's preeminent role in an inheritance. In their first experiment, bacteria were infected with T2 phage containing radioactive 32P-labeled DNA. In a second experiment, the separate batch of bacteria was infected with T2 phage containing radioactive 35S-labeled protein. Bacteria were after that separated from the phage coats by blending followed by centrifugation. In the first experiment, most radioactivities were found in the infected bacteria, while in the second experiment most radioactivities were found in the phage coat. These experiments demonstrated that DNA is the genetic material of phage and that protein does not transmit genetic information. Can this same experiment be carried out with 35S and 14C? Describe it?
Q2. List all systems in which some component is based on movement of material across a cell or organelle membrane. List the whether the movement is diffusion, osmosis, active transport, or bulk flow. Illustrate the adaptations that increase the efficiency of this movement.
Assume you start with 10 ml of 2% acetic acid, and you add 90 ml of water. We will call the resulting solution "dilution#1". What is its concentration?
Enzyme labeling can be used to map the structure of the active site of an enzyme using an affinity label, a molecule that is structurally similar to the substrate.

Why is the citric acid cycle so complicated? Catabolic pathways modeling studies based on the activity of various oxidoreductase enzymes predict that the complete oxidation of an acetyl group to CO2 could be accomplished in as few as 4 enzyme cata..
The target of the project is for you to evaluate the effect of an acid on enzymatic activity. As part of this project, you must identify your source of enzyme and the acid used.
Which virus caused it? Why was a viral culture completed after the Gram and acid-fast stain results were obtained.

A neutral variant of feather color in snow geese, called blue phase is caused through an unknown genetic variant. The less common blue phase results from a single dominant gene while common white phase is homozygous recessive.
