Funders do want to see that you will be able to maintain the program for the long term and not just for the period they are providing funding. Sustainability is not just about the money. It is about an organization's ability to keep the very worthwhile program up and running in a community where the program is needed. The funder believed in your vision from the outset, and they want to see your vision live on. What might be the consequences if your program does, in fact, fold due to lack of funding? How would this look to potential funders if you ever try to revive the program?
