Assignment - Initiating/Planning

Propose an idea for a real/fictional project. The project must be related to the continuous improvement of a product, process, or service.

Some ideas could include:

• Six Sigma project to improve a particular metric/quality measure of a process, product, or service

• Identifying the root cause of a product defect and implementing a solution to prevent reoccurrence

• Reducing the waste produced by a process

• Implementing LEAN or 5S in a particular area of an organization

The ideas presented above are very general. Please be sure that the project you propose is very specific to a certain product, process, or service.

Once you have an idea for your project, please complete the following:

1. Write a brief introduction about your project (1 or 2 paragraphs or approximately ½ page).

2. Develop a scope statement using the template provided on eConestoga.
