Background In December 2022, Alpha Retail Ltd bought a property from Beta Wholesalers Ltd at $100,000 above market value. Bee Stone is a director of both companies and was the majority shareholder of Beta at the time of the transaction. In March 2023, Alpha fell into financial difficulties after a supplier failed to make a major delivery. Alpha tried to trade out of its difficulties but became unable to pay its creditors. The High Court appointed a liquidator for Alpha on 1 May 2024. Required Advise Beta whether Alpha's liquidator has grounds for recovering any money from it.
