Case Scenario

Mr. Sireli Malaqa is a legal owner of the property described as Lot 55, Tokyo Street, Gold Road, Nasinu. The property consists of two flats. Flat one is occupied by Malaqa and family while the second flat is rented out.

The last tenant of Malaqa was Raynal. After she vacated the flat, a joint inspection of the flat was carried out by Malaqa and Raynal. During the inspection, several damages to the property were noted. Perret refused to pay for the repairs claiming that the flat was in the same condition when she moved in. Malaqa claimed otherwise.

Malaqa refused to refund her bond of $800.00 and also noted that Raynal has not cleared her previous electricity and water bills.

Noting the substantial costs involved for the repair works required and the unpaid bills, Malaqa decides to file a claim against Raynal in the Small Claims Tribunal. He has found out that you are currently enrolled in LAW 803 and has requested your assistance in filing his claim against Raynal.
