Why is the maximization (or increasing wealth) the overriding goal for the corporation and how are the conflicting goals of other stakeholders settled? These conflicting goals include the one between shareholders and management -- but are not limited to just this. What about the conflict between other stakeholders and stockholders? For example the current debate over implementing a $15 an hour minimum wage (forwarded by fast food workers); the debate over higher taxes for governments; the debate over the burning of coal to produce electricity versus other more costly methods; and others. Please pick/ or develop one of these and explain how the conflicting goal of shareholders and others are/or should be resolved.
