A paint manufacturer is experimenting with an additive tbal mJght make the paint less chalky. To ensure that the additive does not affect the tint. a quality con trol engineer takes a sample from each of seven batches of Osage Ornnge. Each sample is split in half, and the additive is put into one of the two. Both ssmpJes are examined with a spectroscope, with the output read instandardized lumen units. If the tint were exactly correct the reading would be 1.00. Test that the mean spectroscope readings are the same for the two versions of Osage Orange. Let = 0.05.
