The cantilevered bar in the figure has a circular cross section and is subject to bending and torsion. The normal stress due to bending in x=28 kpsi and the shear stress due to torsion is xz=15.3 kpsi. The change in diameter introduces a stress concentration. Determine the principal stresses and maximum principle shear stress at this position.
