Consider the pressure driven flow between stationary parallel plates separated by distance b. Coordinate y is measured from the bottom plate. The velocity field is given by u=U(y/b)[1-(y/b)]. Obtain an expression for the circulation about a closed contour of height h an length L. Evaluate when h=b/2 and when h=b. Show that the same result is obtained from the area integral of the Stokes Theorem.

Rigid tank is divided into two equal parts by a partition : An insulated, rigid tank is divided into two equal parts by a partition. Initially, one part contains 6.06 kmol of an ideal gas at 155 kPa and 30C, and the other side is evacuated. The partition is now removed, and the gas fills the entire tank. Dete..
Dual cycle has a compression ratio : A Dual cycle has a compression ratio of 15:1. The state at the beginning of compression is 14.4psi and 60F. The volume ratio during the constant pressure part of the heat addition process is 2:1. The pressure ratio during the constant volume heat add..
Basic bonding and atomic models : Explain the answer in a manner such that someone who did not previously know the answer will now understand the concept down to the microscopic level (i.e., basic bonding and atomic models).
Find the velocity at which the water jet hits the ball : The 0.15 kg ball is held stationary by a jet of water. At the nozzle, the speed of the jet is 6m/s, and its diameter is 12mm. Find the velocity at which the water jet hits the ball and the height of the ball. Density of water is 1000kg/m^3
