Enterprise Systems Assignment -
Task description: The assessment will relate to one or more of the unit learning outcomes depending upon the choice of selected presentation development topic. This is an individual assessment for both on-campus and off-campus students. Each student is to develop a PowerPoint presentation about any area of Enterprise Systems related to weeks one to five learning topics. Along with the PowerPoint presentation, students are to provide scripts and a handout. Students are to prepare a handout, which should be in a format that students can use as a summary of the main points of the PowerPoint presentation and include the references. Students are to include their scripts as part of their PowerPoint presentation, that is, what would be said if they were giving the presentation in front of an audience. The scripts should show clearly what would be said or discussed as each slide is presented. The script should be included in the 'Notes' section of each slide.
Any other topic that is not related to weeks one to five learning topics needs to be approved by your local lecturer.
Write this topic: (week 4) - Know the various types of ERP architectures and the related benefits and drawbacks of each architecture.
There is no face-to-face classroom presentation. The assessment is based on the submitted PowerPoint slides, scripts, handout and other relevant materials. You can choose to focus on any area of Enterprise Systems related to one or some of the learning topics in weeks one to five. Once the area is selected, you can start by studying the relevant unit materials. You are expected to add a significant body of new materials, a different perspective or depth to the information already covered in the unit materials. Learn to apply theories into real life practice, with high quality references as support. For example, in the Development Life Cycle topic (Week 5) students may wish to investigate ERP Implementation Life Cycle at a deeper level, with reference supports from academic sources (such as textbooks and peer-reviewed journal articles) and high quality industry sources. Do not use sources that were published before 2013.
The titles for the weeks one to five learning topics are:
Week 1: Introduction to Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems
Week 2: Systems integration
Week 3: Organisational change and Business process reengineering
Week 4: Enterprise systems architecture
Week 5: Development life cycle
As an alternative, it is possible for student to nominate other topics for this assessment. The nominated topic must be related to Enterprise Systems. Student interested in this alternative should submit a proposal to their Lecturer. The proposal should include a proposed outline and sources of references. Your own work experience in relevant projects can be used. If written approval is not granted three weeks before the due date for submission, student should work on an area related to weeks one to five learning topics.
