Question: Instructions: For this assignment, prepare an annual budget projection for a real or hypothetical nonprofit organization. Submit your budget in the form of an Excel spreadsheet and a separate MS Word file in which you discuss it.

Part 1: In the Excel spreadsheet that you submit, you must:

1. Include a column for each of the twelve months of next year (January through December);

2. List in the first column all logical expenses of the organization (For example, if the nonprofit organization is one that rescues dogs and find them new homes, some categories of expenses might be vaccinations, boarding costs for rescued dogs awaiting placement, and salary of a full-time non-volunteer coordinator);

3. List at least eight logical expenses for this nonprofit organization;

4. Enter the expense amount associated with each expense in each of the twelve months.

5. Use formulas to show the following totals:

7. Add the total cost of all expenses for each of the twelve months;

8. Add the total cost of all expenses for the entire year.

9. Include a row that identifies the total funding requirement by month. The total funding requirement for each month for purposes of this assignment is defined as the total of the projected expenses for that month.

Part 2: Using MS Word, describe the real or hypothetical nonprofit organization and clarify the expenses listed in your Excel budget. Reflect on the extent to which you have encountered this type of budget planning in the past, your level of comfort with preparing this type budget projection as a part of revenue requirements planning for a nonprofit organization, and any professional development steps you believe you could take to enhance your preparedness for this element of fundraising planning and management.
